FX Masters is a state of the art Special Effects and Prototyping facility established in 1998, but with an accumulated 26 years of experience in these industries. The company was established as an on-line tutorial website devoted to training novices in the art of special makeup effects, but soon grew into a brick and mortar shop specializing in Sculpting, Mould Making, Casting, Painting and on-set implementation of various effects and costumes. Founded by Paul Barnes, FX Masters has grown into a trusted and well respected asset to our clients, who include Universal Pictures, Nintendo, Disney/Pixar, Idea Planet, TUKA Tech, The Hollywood Wax Museum, Speedo, City of Palmdale, Sideshow Productions, Craftwork Orange Studio, and many more.

It is the goal of FX Masters to provide excellence in every aspect of a project regardless of size or difficulty. From initial concept art through final paint, our attention to detail is uncompromising, and great pride is taken in the fact that no job has ever been lost as a result of a dissatisfied customer. Another point of interest is FX Masters' pricing policy; every job is quoted fairly, neither too low nor too high. Experience elsewhere has proven that “too low” and the vendor resents it and the job can suffer, and “too high” and the client feels they’re being taken advantage of.

FX Masters takes special pride in its mould making abilities, which include fiberglass, epoxy, silicone, and stone moulds. The company has produced moulds for toy prototypes, fine art sculptures, motion picture props and make-ups, clothing fit forms, personal projects, promotional items, and myriad others. Most recently FX Masters has made moulds for Spiderman III, a revolutionary bra fit form, a world famous artist, and a world-renowned motion picture collectables company. Our clients’ diversity is our strength. Constantly faced with the challenge of a wide ranging variety of projects, our skills are always honed and we can’t help but innovating at every turn.

In addition, FX Masters has established itself as one of the preeminent producers of ultra high quality, ultra realistic wax figures in the world. During our three-year tenure working for the Hollywood Wax Museum, we have developed new and innovative techniques for accurately reproducing figures in wax, fiberglass, and silicone. Blending century old methods with 21st century technology, FX Masters has established itself as one of the top three wax facilities in the world, and is presently in the process of developing their own wax museum, to be located on Maui, Hawaii.
